Indigo: Commons

Richmond, Texas

Summary

Indigo Commons is a vibrant, connected village designed to foster healthy living within the Indigo Community. Strategically located within walking distance for all community members, this "people first" amenity hub integrates retail, small businesses, restaurants, and abundant outdoor spaces. It serves as a nurturing ground for first-time businesses, and houses brownstone apartments, cottages, an event barn, a 5-acre working farm, and a community bodega known as "The Filling Station."

In an era where many prefer urban, walkable environments over car-dependent suburbs, Indigo Commons redefines suburban living. It offers diverse housing options, generous green belts, and hyper-local retail, all while prioritizing people. Complete streets, ample green space, and diverse retail contribute to a community-centric environment. Sustainability is deeply embedded in the Commons' ethos, exemplified by low impact development strategies such as bioswales, soil cells for urban trees, xeriscaping, and water harvesting. These interventions reflect the community's commitment to resilience, diversity, and healthy living. By re-envisioning suburban living, Indigo Commons creates a healthy, thriving neighborhood for people, community, and natural ecosystems.
